Akihabara's long-established maid cafe "At Home Cafe" and the hugely popular character "Sumikko Gurashi" are collaborating for the first time! In addition to the collaboration cafes in Akihabara and Osaka, there will also be a special stage at Kanda Myojin Shrine!<\/span><\/strong>
\n <\/p>\n

At Home Cafe, a maid cafe run by Infinia Inc. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Takaki Fukazawa), will be collaborating with Sumikko Gurashi, a popular character from San-X Corporation. As part of this collaboration, limited-time collaboration cafes will be opened at At Home Cafes in Akihabara, Tokyo and Nihonbashi, Osaka. In addition, as a special project to commemorate the event, a special stage performance will be held at Kanda Myojin Hall (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) where Sumikko Gurashi characters and At Home Cafe maids will perform together.

Now in its 22nd year, At Home Cafe has been a part of Akihabara culture, popular with people of all ages both in Japan and overseas, with the concept of "a place that warms the heart." This project brings you a special collaboration that combines At Home Cafe's unique worldview of "omotenashi" (hospitality) with the gentle, caring charm of Sumikko Gurashi.

What is Sumikkogurashi?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The character was born in 2012 with the keyword "This is where I feel at ease."<\/p>\n

Not only are they cute, but their slightly negative and surreal characters and stories have attracted a wide range of popularity. When you get on the train, the corner seats fill up, and when you go to a cafe, you want to secure a corner seat if possible… Sumikkogurashi embodies this feeling that many Japanese people have.<\/p>\n

At Home Cafe<\/strong><\/h3>\n

She created the delicious charm "Moe Moe Kyun," which is well-known in the media, and the word "Moe~," which became popular mainly on the Internet, won the Top Ten in the 2005 U-Can Buzzword Awards.<\/p>\n

The company will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2024 and currently operates eight stores in Akihabara, three in Osaka, and will open two stores simultaneously in Nagoya in 2025. It employs over 650 maids, including legendary maid Hitomi, who has 21 years of experience. In 2020, it also opened a virtual store called "Virtual At Home Cafe," which operates on the Metaverse. Currently, there are 60 virtual maids on staff, separate from the stores.<\/p>\n

This cafe-style theme park is a popular tourist destination, promoting "safe, secure, and wholesome" entertainment that is accessible to visitors from overseas, solo female travelers, and families with small children.
