Animate Co., Ltd. has renewed and grand opened Animate Akihabara on April 28, 2023.<\/p>\n

Animate, a store specializing in anime, comics, and games, has 122 stores in 47 prefectures in Japan and overseas. Relocated to the location of the former Building No. 1 on Showa-dori, it has been loved by many people for many years as a mecca for anime in the Akihabara area. Following the refurbishment of Building No. 2 in December 2022, the No. 1 store moved to its grand opening on April 28. It consists of two buildings. Building 1 has character goods, audiovisual products, and game products from basement 1st to 7th floor. Latte Akihabara has been added, and not only shopping but also hands-on facilities have been added, making it a facility where everyone's "fun" gathers.<\/p>\n

To commemorate the grand opening, an opening event was held at Animate Akihabara on April 28th.<\/p>\n

Kaori Ishihara used to come to Animate Akihabara with her friends to buy manga and goods when she was a junior high school student. At the release event for the "Koi no Overtake" CD, she said, "It was my first release event, so I still have the image of being very nervous. Thankfully, I think I was able to sing the song there as well. In that sense, I was able to do a lot of things here, learn a lot, and build a bridge with the fans, which left a deep impression on me." .<\/p>\n
