Over the past year, we have offered over 500 types of beer from domestic breweries. This is all thanks to your kind support, and we are truly grateful. We will continue to work hard to provide you with delicious beer and fun experiences.
Canal brewing: first year overview
Our store opened a year ago when the end of the COVID-19 pandemic was in sight. We started with the sole desire to enliven our hometown of Oimachi with our beloved craft beer. At first, we were a little worried about being a store that only sold craft beer. But gradually, we grew into a store that attracted many customers from both Japan and overseas. In addition to running the store, we have had the opportunity to take part in festivals and events, and have been blessed with more opportunities than we expected.
We feel great joy every time we hear from customers that they were impressed when they tried domestic craft beer for the first time.
About the 1st anniversary beer "One Chance"
For this beer, we had the cooperation of Niwa Satoshi, the head brewer at Kamado Brewery, whom I, the owner, have admired ever since I first started drinking beer.
The style is West Coast IPA, a fragrant beer using the latest NZ hops. The hops are mainly Superdelic, a supernova that was just released in 2023, and are characterized by tropical, lemon, and floral aromas. With a pleasant bitterness and clear taste, it is the perfect drink for spring.
The title is "One Chance"
The name was chosen to convey the meaning of a once-in-a-lifetime one-year anniversary beer. The reading of "wanchan" comes from the fact that our store's mascot is a dog.
[About Kamado Brewery]
Kamado Brewery was born in Kamado-cho, Mizunami City, Gifu Prefecture, through the encounter between craft beer master Satoshi Niwa and two beer lovers who care about the local area.
The name "Kamado" comes from the fact that the Tono region is one of Japan's leading pottery regions, typified by Mino ware, and the kiln/kamado is like a symbol of the heart of the local potters. In order to keep the fire in the kamado burning, we continue to contribute to the region through beer. We are creating a new beer culture by combining the creativity of a brewer who is also known as a legend with the pottery, climate, and culture of the Tono region!
