The portable LCD toy "Digital Monster" was released in June 1997 with the development concept of "Fighting Tamagotchi" in response to the big hit of "Tamagotchi" released by Bandai Co., Ltd. in 1996. After that, through the series, he developed cross-media such as TV animation, theatrical version animation and comics, and has been supported by many fans in Japan and abroad. The total number of portable LCD toys "Digital Monster / Digivice" series sold so far will reach more than 14.41 million units worldwide by FY2009.

In 2020, the 21st year since the broadcast of the first TV anime "Digimon Adventure" began, the BANDAI NAMCO Group started a project to strengthen the "Digimon" series. Starting with the broadcast of the TV anime "Digimon Adventure:", each content has been developed, and the new series "Digimon Ghost Game" is currently being broadcast.
