Kiuchi Sake Brewery Co., Ltd. (Naka City, Ibaraki Prefecture) will open a new store, “Kiuchi Sake Brewery TOKYO,” in the SEEKBASE commercial area under the Akihabara-Okachimachi elevated railway on Thursday, December 12, 2024. The new store will be a flagship store located in Tokyo that will sell a wide variety of Kiuchi Sake Brewery sakes and original goods, and allow customers to enjoy tasting rare sakes by the glass.

We offer a wide range of alcoholic beverages made with the 200 years of tradition, from our original sake brewing business to standard and limited edition products such as Hitachino Nest Beer and Hinomaru Whiskey. Kiuchi Sake Brewery TOKYO was born from the desire to experience the Hitachino culture through food and to convey Japan’s traditional sake brewing.

At the TOKYO store, heavy sake barrels used in sake brewing are lined up inside the store, and you can enjoy a glass of sake, Hinomaru Whisky, Hinomaru Gin Kura Fudo, and more in an atmosphere that gives off a sense of the history of the sake brewery.

Hinomaru Whisky produced by Yasato Distillery offers a wide range of whiskeys, from standard products to rare single cask varieties. In addition to Kiuchi Sake Brewery’s sake, the shop also offers original goods and raw ham and sausages produced at Hitachino Ham Factory BARREL SMOKE, which can be taken home with you.

Hitachino Brewing Tokyo Distillery, located in the same area of SEEKBASE, is also scheduled to be renovated in 2025. The beer bar, which serves alcohol from Kiuchi Brewery and dishes made with ingredients from Ibaraki Prefecture, will be renovated, and the adjacent distillery will be reborn as an experience-based area where customers can enjoy themselves even more, with the addition of a Hinomaru Whisky blending experience and exhibition booths.

About Kikumori Sake

In 1823, Kiuchi Gihei, who was the village headman of Konosu Village, Naka County, Hitachi Province, at the time, started sake brewing. Gihei had close ties with Toko Fujita, who was a central figure in the late Edo period, and many other scholars of Mitogaku. Toko saw the sight of chrysanthemums blooming in his garden as a symbol of Japan’s prosperity, and so Kiuchi’s sake was named “Kikumori.” Today, he continues to work with the local people in the pursuit of “sake brewing” that will be loved by new generations and the world.

About Hinomaru Whisky

They began producing whiskey in 2016 and released “The 1st Edition” in 2022. Yasato Distillery, which began operation in 2020, is equipped with pot stills and column stills, making it possible to produce not only malt whiskey but also a variety of whiskeys using barley, wheat, and rice from Ibaraki Prefecture.
